Pseudomorphs – March 10
Pseudomorphs are mineral crystals that possess the external form of another species, rather than expressing their own atomic arrangement, they display the form of another mineral species with a different atomic arrangement. Haüy coined the term pseudomorph in his 1801 Traité de Minéralogie, by combining Greek roots pseudo for false, and morph for form.
