Colemanite after Inyoite - Sold
- Corkscrew mine
- Death Valley
- Inyo County
- California
- U.S.A.
- 4.3 × 2.8 × 2.8 cm – Miniature specimen (fits into a 5 cm cube)
Colemanite here replaced a large inyoite crystal 4.3 cm across. These pseudomorphs seem to form by encrustation as inyoite dissolves and colemanite precipitates. A hint of tan coloration comes from microscopic inclusions of todorokite. Part of the Charles Trantham (1936-2020) estate.
