New mineral: Luinaite-(OH) – August 23

Luinaite-(OH) is a new member of the tourmaline group of minerals, the first with monoclinic symmetry. The end member composition is NaFe2+3Al6(BO3)3Si6O18(OH)4, making the mineral dimorphous with schorl. We have 16 specimens from a co-type locality in Washington State.
