Siderite after Aegirine - Sold

This is a single prismatic crystal, formerly of aegirine, now replaced by siderite. This seems to be an alteration pseudomorph, and inidicates reducing conditions sufficient to change Fe3+ to Fe2+. A label from Gilles Haineault accompanies this piece. Gilles Haineault specializes in Mont St. Hilaire minerals, and recently sold his collection to the Canadian Museum of Nature.
