Azurite replacing Chalcostibite

Chalcostibite is a copper antimony sulfosalt, named for its composition (Glocker, 1847). At this locality in Morocco, large crystal sections of chalcostibite are found partially altered to azurite, just like this example. The cores of these crystals consist of relict chalcostibite. This example shows the striations of the original chalcostibite still preserved in blue azurite.
