Goethite after Pyrite - Sold

This is a single crystal, a classic pyritohedron, with twelve sides. Once brassy pyrite, this crystal has oxidized to dark brown limonite. The crystal is rather light, indicating porosity and complete oxidation. Many similar appearing pseudomorphs have solid cores of pyrite. This one seems to have complete replacement, but for the sake of specimen collecting, we are not cutting the piece in half to make such a determination. Unusual locality.
