Chloroxiphite - Sold

Chloroxiphite is a lead copper oxychloride, originally found in the Mendip Hills. Spencer & Mountain (1923) named the mineral using the Greek for green sword, since the mineral forms green prisms. Chloroxiphite forms dark green prisms to 1.2 cm, embedded in a contrasting white mendipite. Mendipite is a lead oxychloride mineral named by Glocker (1839). Two type locality species in one specimen!

This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
