Clinoclase is a monoclinic copper arsenate mineral, dubbed clinoclase by Breithaupt (1830). The mineral name denotes the inclined cleavage of the mineral. This is a representative specimen with friable iron stained quartz matrix, hosting curved dark blue crystals to 4 mm. This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Ralph Merrill obtained this specimen from John Patrick.
