Manganvesuvianite - Sold

Armbruster et al. (2002) described manganvesuvianite as a new mineral from South Africa. Manganvesuvianite is tetragonal, like vesuvianite, and deep red. This specimen is a rock forming mass of the mineral, with pockets of terminated crystals to 4 mm. The intensity of the red color makes the specimen appear nearly black, but under the microscope the true color is visible. Difficult to obtain and attractive! This is ex Charlie Key collection material, distributed in 2007-2008.
