Schröckingerite is a hydrous sodium calcium uranyl sulfate carbonate fluoride. Schrauf (1873) originally described schröckingerite from Jáchymov (Czech Republic), naming the spcies in honor of discoverer Julius Schröckinger (1813–1882).
This is a very rich example of schröckingerite from Wyoming. The mineral occurs throughout a soft clay matrix, forming nodular aggregates to 1.4 cm across. An accompanying label indicates the specimen came from John Funk of Laramie (Wyoming) in 1939.
