Djerfisherite is a complex potassium iron sulfide; now also the namesake for a mineral group. Originally found in a meteorite, the mineral name honors Professor D. Jerry Fisher (1896-1988), mineralogist at the University of Chicago (Fuchs 1966) [paywall].
Djerfisherite forms a metallic mass 1.0 cm across in feldspar matrix. Minor villiaumite is also present. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
