Wagnerite is a magnesium phosphate fluoride, and namesake for the wagnerite mineral group. Fuchs (1821) named the mineral in honor of Franz M. von Wagner (1768-1851), mining official in Munich, Germany.
Wagnerite forms uneven, flesh-colored cleavages to 2.7 cm in matrix. The matrix is granitic pegmatite, consisting of albite, muscovite and quartz, with accessory triphylite. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
