Tyuyamunite is a calcium uranium vanadate mineral. The mineral takes its name from its type locality, the Tyuya-Muyun deposit in Kyrgyzstan (Nenadkevich, 1912). Tyuyamunite is widespread in the Colorado Plateau Region, which includes the Ridenour mine (Wenrich et al. 1990).
Tyuyamunite forms yellow platy crystals to 0.5 mm with bronze-green volborthite and blue-green brochantite.From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020).
