Labuntsovite-Fe is a hydrous sodium potassium iron titanium silicate, specifically a member of the labuntsovite group (Chukanov et al. 2002). Semenov & Burova (1955) named labuntsovite, now labuntsovite-Mn, after Aleksandr Labuntsov (1884-1963), discoverer of the Khibiny apatite deposits. When Khomyakov et al. (2001) found an iron dominant analog of labuntsovite, they applied a Levinson like suffix, naming it labuntsovite-Fe.
Labuntsovite-Fe forms red-brown crystals to 0.5 mm on feldspar matrix. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
