Augelite is a hydrous aluminum phosphate. Blomstrand (1868) first described the mineral from Sweden, naming the species using Greek root auge, for luster.
Augelite forms colorless gemmy crystals to 5 mm on matrix with baryte, pyrite, arsenopyrite and quartz. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
