Umbozerite is a sodium strontium thorium silicate. Es'kova et al. (1974) named the mineral after nearby Lake Umbozero. This specimen is from the type locality.
Umbozerite forms green brown needles to 1.8 cm, embeded in a matrix of pale violet ussingite and white chkalovite. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
