- 3.7 × 2.6 × 1.9 cm – Miniature specimen (fits into a 5 cm cube)
Manganonordite-(Ce) is a sodium manganese strontium cerium silicate. Pekov et al. (1998) named manganonordite-(Ce) for its manganese content and relationship to nordite, which Gerasimovsky (1941) originally named for its "northern origins." Manganonordite-(Ce) is a member of the nordite supergroup announced in 2021 (International Mineralogical Association CNMNC newsletter 60). This specimen is from the type locality.
Manganonordite-(Ce) forms a radiating aggregate, 8 mm across, in massive ussingite-chkalovite. Dark brown bladed umbozerite is also present. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona. A label from LBL Minerals accompanies this specimen.
