Hydromagnesite is a hydrous magnesium carbonate. Von Kobell (1835) named the mineral species for its composition.
This is an exceptional specimen of Nevada hydromagnesite. Hydromagnesite forms bladed crystals to 8 mm, arranged into radiating sprays to 16 mm across, covering a fracture surface. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona. Laskowski self-collected this specimen August 8, 2002.
