Redledgeite


Redledgeite is a complex oxide mineral and a member of the hollandite group. Strunz (1961) named the species after its type locality, the Red Ledge mine. Recently, the International Mineralogical Association redefined redledgeite (Biagoni et al., 2013). This example of has a 23 by 19 mm coverage of fibrous yellow-green redledgeite. The matrix is massive chromite; minor purplish clinochlore is also present.

From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020). Laskowski acquired this specimen from Dakota Matrix in 2009; labels from Laskowski and Dakota Matrix accompany the specimen.
