Cassiterite is tin oxide and a member of the rutile group. This is a classic gunsight twin of cassiterite from a locality in Far East Russia. It shows significant edge wear, indicating some rough treatment over the years.
From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020). Laskowski acquired this specimen from Dyck's Minerals in 1995; labels from Laskowski and Dyck's accompany the specimen.
