Fluor-dravite (IMA2009-085) - Sold

Fluor-dravite (IMA2009-085) is a recently recognized mineral of the tourmaline group. The name denotes its relationship to the long known species dravite, specifically its fluorine rich analog (Clark et al., 2011). This specimen comes from the type locality.

Fluor-dravite here forms prismatic crystals to 2.5 cm long brown in pegmatite rock. The matrix consists of feldspar, quartz, mica; minor chromian beryl (emerald) is also present.
