Kasolite is a lead uranium silicate mineral. Schoep (1921) named the mineral after the settlement at Kasolo, site of the the type locality. Rosenzweig & Ryan (1970) refined the crystal structure and located the essential water. This specimen features gemmy orange microcrystals to perhaps 1 mm scattered over a dense orange pulverent matrix, likely curite. A nice rich specimen. Formerly in the Jean Chervet (chervetite) collection, and his label accompanies the specimen.
