Luetheite - Sold

A volcanic matrix altering to sericite hosts a fracture surface coating of luetheite. Luetheite is a copper aluminum arsenate related to chenevixite; this material comes from the type locality (Williams, 1977). The name honors R.D. Luethe, geologist for Phelps Dodge Corpoation. This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited.
