- 1.8 by 1.4 by 0.9 cm – Thumbnail specimen (fits into a 3 cm cube)
Paradamite crystals to 5 mm (across their diagonals) have formed a spheroidal clump on limonite matrix. Like many specimens mounted by Willard Perkin, this piece has a sawn base with an attached piece of styrofoam, that in turn attached to the tooth of a comb, all of which is inserted into the foam insert of the hinged plastic box. This piece was from Perkin's personal collection as evidenced by the number on the bottom of the thumbnail box. For more information on Williard Perkin, there is an article in a Rocks and Minerals Magazine by Peter Megaw. Ex Willard Perkin, ex Kay Robertson, ex Ron Pellar collections.
