Inesite is a calcium manganese silicate originally found in Germany (Schneider, 1887). Inesite here forms radiating masses in a vein in hematite ore. Not common at this locality.
This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. He obtained the piece in 1954. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
