Redledgeite is a complex oxide mineral named after its type locality, the Red Ledge mine (Strunz, 1961). Foley et al. (1997) determined the crystal structure of mineral. This is a rich example with two areas of pulverent yellow green redledgeite, the larger measuring 1.4 cm across, embedded in magnesiochromite matrix. There is minor purplish clinochlore in association as well.
