Weeksite is a uranyl silicate mineral named in honor of Alice Weeks, a specialist on the Colorado roll type deposits (Outerbridge et al. 1960). The mineral here forms needles to 2 mm with deep purple fluorite crystals on quartz matrix. This is a very attractive micromineral specimen. This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited.
