Curite, Kasolite - Sold

Curite is a hydrated lead uranium oxide mineral named after physicist Pierre Curie (Schoep, 1921). Curite forms red needles, here to 1.5 mm on a matrix of metatorbernite and kasolite. This is a rich example. There are some associated kasolite crystals on the edge of the specimen. This specimen has amazing color! High grade uranium ore! This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Ralph obatined the piece from Williard Perkin (promoter of the hinged thumbnail box). Unfortunately for Perky, this specimen was just large enough not to fit into one of those hinged boxes.
