Annabergite is a nickel arsenate named after its type locality in Germany (Philips et al. 1852). In this specimen, annabergite forms bright apple green crystals to 0.5 mm filling a cavity in gossan. This is an excellent example of the nickel ion (Ni2+) coloration in minerals. This specimen comes from Ralph Merrill collection, proprietor of Minerals Unlimited. Purchase includes Merrill's catalog card (and label), accessioned in 1955. Also carries a Krantz label.
