Gonnardite - Sold

Gonnardite is a zeolite mineral named after F. Gonnard who studied the minerals of Puy-de-Dôme (Lacroix, 1896). A recent paper (Artioli and Galli, 1999) redefined the mineral. Gonnardite here forms spherules to 3 mm in a cavity in basalt. This specimen comes from Ralph Merrill collection, proprietor of Minerals Unlimited. Purchase includes Merrill's catalog card (and label), indicating acquisition in 1961.
