Carrboydite is a hydrated nickel aluminum hydroxide related to hydrotalcite Nickel and Clark (1976). The mineral forms yellowish green coatings on altered ultramafic rock, with off-white saponite. This specimen comes from Ralph Merrill collection, proprietor of Minerals Unlimited. Purchase includes Merrill's catalog card (and label), indicating purchase from Cureton Mineral Company in 1978.
