Honessite - Sold

Honessite is a nickel sulfate mineral which forms from alteration of the nickel sulfide millerite. The mineral was first described by Heyl et al. (1959), but the data were a bit incomplete. Later work by Bish and Livingstone (1981) solidified the status of the mineral and showed its relationship to hydrotalcite. Nickel minerals often show bright green coloration. This specimen is an extremely fragile fibrous aggregate mounted on a plastic stick. Attractive and rare.
