This is an altered sample of magnesiochromite with a coverage of purple chromium bearing clinochlore and green uvarovite crystals. Uvarovite is a rare calcium chromium garnet, found as alterations of primary chromium minerals. This specimen is a very attractive specimen from California; few specimens were preserved during the chromium rush of World War II. Former Bob Kaar collection. This specimen has been sawn.
