Germanite is a copper iron germanium sulfide named for its content of germanium (Pufahl, 1922). The mineral occured over several levels in the Tsumeb orebody, and puzzled mineralogists ever since. This is a typical example of massive germanite, tarnished a characteristic purplish rose-red color. Minor tennantite and pyrite are also present. 55 grams.
