Woodhouseite is a calcium aluminum phosphate sulfate, originally described from the Champion mine. The mineral is a member of the alunite-jarosite group. Like most members of this group, woodhouseite forms rhombohedral crystals, here to 5 mm. Drusy quartz provides a contrast to the light tan woodhouseite.
