Inesite is a manganese silicate mineral found in certain metamorphic environments. Due to its manganese content, inesite has a rich pink to red color. China began producing inesite specimens in 2000 or so, in wonderful mushroom shapes and fans like this example. This radiating fan of inesite has a later coating of quartz crystals on the backside and a minor scattered crystals of brown hubeite. Hubeite is a calcium manganese silicate originally described in 2002 from this locality.
