Glagolevite is a sodium magnesium aluminosilciate, and a member of the chlorite group. Seredkin et al. (2003) named the mineral after Alexander Glagolev (1927-1993), Russian mineralogist and petrologist who specialized in carbonatites. Krivovichev et al. (2004) refined the crystal structure.

Glagolevite forms cleavage plates to 1.1 cm on green vesuvianite. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
