Hessite with Teineite - Sold

Hessite is silver telluride. Fröbel (1843) named hessite Germain Henri Hess (1802-1850), who studied medicine, and qualified as physician. However after meeting Berzelius, Hess found a passion for chemistry, making contributions to chemical thermodynamics. Teineite is a hydrous copper tellurite. Yosimura (1939) named teineite for its type locality in Japan.

Teineite forms blue alteration halos around black hessite blebs to 5 mm. From the collection of E.R. Laskowski (1949-2020), a mining engineer who retired to Tucson, Arizona.
