Arsenbrackebuschite on Segnitite - Sold

Arsenbrackebuschite is a rare zinc lead arsenate mineral originally described from Tsumeb, Namibia and Germany (Abraham et al., 1978). The mineral name denotes its arsenic content and relationship to the long known species brackebuschite.

Ojuela surprised species collectors in 2010 with the discovery of these rich arsenbrackebuschite specimens. This specimen has two coverages of arsenbrackebuschite, 1.2 × 1.2 cm and 1.9 × 1.7 cm. Arsenbrackebuschite forms yellow wedges to 0.5 mm. The matrix is a brownish green powdery segnitite. And gemmy mimetite crystals to 1.2 cm are also present. The identification of arsenbrackebuschite is based upon unit cell determination by single crystal X-ray diffraction combined with semi-quantitative SEM-EDS analysis. The identification of segnitite is based on both SEM-EDS and Raman spectroscopy.
