Datolite - Sold

Datolite is a hydrous calcium borosilicate. Klaproth (1806) named datolite using the Greek dateisthai to divide, for the granular nature of type material. According to the 1995 Handbook of Mineralogy, the largest known datolite crystals come from Westfield, Massachusetts, and Charcas, Mexico. Dal'negorsk also produces large crystals.

This is a flat plate of pastel green dtaolite crystals to 3.4 × 3.3 cm, with minor associated quartz. Scattered pseudo-tetrahedral chalcopyrite crystals to 3 mm provide contrast.
