Parnauite - Sold

Parnauite is a hydrous copper arsenate sulfate. Wise (1978) named the species after mineral collector John "Jack" Parnau (1906-1990), for his contributions to the mineralogy of Majuba Hill. This mineral was once presumed to be tyrolite, which also occurs at this locality. New world localities for parnauite allowed for crystal structure determination and resolution of its ideal formula (Mills et al., 2013).

This fragment of altered rhyolite matrix has a cavity, 3 mm across, lined with parnauite microcrystals. This piece comes with two labels: Mineralogical Research Company and John Parnau. Get a piece of parnauite from Parnau!
