Clinoclase is a hydrous copper arsenate. The mineral name combines Greek roots clinon incline and klan break, alluding to its monoclinic cleavage.
This specimen consists of clinoclase encrusting altered copper sulfides. The clinoclase forms spheres to 3 mm, with later partical coverage in azurite and malachite. Quite attractive. Classic material.
