Mansfieldite - Sold

Mansfieldite is a hydrous aluminum arsenate, specifically the aluminum analog of scorodite. Allen et al. (1948) named the species after Dr. George Rogers Mansfield (1875-1947), U.S. Geological Survey.

Mansfieldite forms a botryoidal crust, admixed with scorodite. Interesting Oregon material. This specimen was part of the Charles Trantham (1936-2020) estate. A handwritten label accompanying the specimen gives collecting date 1963.
