Grandviewite is a hydrous copper aluminum sulfate (Colchester et al., 2008). Grandviewite corresponds to unknown #5 listed in Leicht (1971) Minerals of the Grandview mine, Mineralogical Record, 2, 214-221. On this specimen, grandviewite forms turquoise blue botryoidal crusts in association with darker blue cyanotrichite, also another copper aluminum sulfate. Spots of green brochantite are also present.
