Krennerite is a gold silver telluride. The mineral name honors József A. Krenner (1839-1920), Hungarian mineralogist who discovered the species (vom Rath, 1877). A recent crystal structure analysis demonstrated that both gold and silver are essential to the mineral's chemistry (Dye & Smyth, 2012).
Krennerite here forms striated brassy prismatic crystals to 4 mm on drusy quartz. Type locality. Nice.
