Heyrovskýite is a lead bismuth sulfide. Klomínský et al. (1971) named the mineral in honor of Jaroslav Heyrovský (1890-1967), Czech Nobel Laureate in chemistry. The mineral is a member of the lillianite homologous series. Most occurrences of heyrovskýite carry a minor amount of silver, but this element is not essential for the species (Mitolo et al., 2011).

This material from Nevada consists of a quartz vein with spider web like growth of heyrovskýite. This occurrence is listed in the 2003 Minerals of Nevada.
