Clinozoisite

Clinozoisite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral. The mineral name denotes its monoclinic symmetry and polymorphous relationship with zoisite. The name zoisite honors Sigmund Zois (1747-1819), a nobleman mineralogist, and mineral collector.

Clinozoisite here forms radiating sprays, 12 mm in diameter, in massive quartz. The clinozoisite has a pink color due to Mn3+ substitution for Al3+. Interesting sample not much seen on the mineral market.
