Woodhouseite - Sold

Woodhouseite is a member of the alunite group, specifically a calcium aluminum phosphate sulfate. Lemmon (1937) named the mineral in honor of Charles Douglas Woodhouse (1888-1975), professor at University of California at Santa Barbara, mineralogist and mineral collector.

This specimen was collected prior to 2008 by Chris Lehmann, a California collector. Woodhouseite here completely forms a single tablet, 6 mm across on massive white quartz. A druse of colorless quartz crystals accompanies the prominent woodhouseite crystal centered on the matrix. A large crystal for the species. This specimen has saw cuts in the backside.
