Chalcocite - Sold

Chalcocite is copper sulfide. The name comes from chalkos, Greek for copper. Despite its chemical simplicity, the mineral has a rather complex crystal structure. The symmetry is monoclinic, but crystals twin and appear pseudo-hexagonal. This is a small matrix specimen with chalcocite crystals to 4 mm across. The matrix consists of pyrite and chalcocite.
