Schaurteite - Sold

Schaurteite is a calcium germanium sulfate mineral. Strunz & Tennyson (1967) named the mineral in honor of Werner T. Schaurte (1893-1978), German industrialist. Origlieri & Downs (2013) solved the crystal structure. Schaurteite forms silky needles, here in compact masses. The whole schaurteite bearing area measures 1.4 cm across. Pale gray calcite cleavages and tan siderite crystals are also present.
